UNION CITY -- Police have released a composite sketch of a suspect who robbed and assaulted a man Apr. 7 n Union City.

About 3:35 p.m., the victim was walking to his bank in a shopping complex at 1650 Decoto Road when a man in a black hooded sweatshirt and black jeans approached him and demanded money, police said. The suspect told the man he had a gun and would shoot him if he did not give up his cash.

The victim handed over his money, and the suspect sprayed him in the face with pepper spray before taking off on foot, authorities said. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man between 25 and 30 years old, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build and goatee.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect's identity is asked to contact the Union City Police Department Investigations Unit at 510-471-1365. The investigation is ongoing.
