OAKLAND -- A 64-year-old man was shot several times Friday night as he drove his truck near the Rene C. Davidson Alameda County Courthouse, police said Saturday.

The man, whose name and place of residence were not released, was able to drive himself to a hospital where he was in stable condition Saturday. He is expected to recover from his wounds.

The shooting happened about 11:55 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of 12th Street across from the courthouse and not far from Lake Merritt. The man told police that as he was driving someone from outside the

truck began shooting at him. He was hit multiple times in the arm and back.

Police don't have a motive yet for the shooting and no arrests have been made.
