SAN FRANCISCO -- The public is invited to test drive a variety of electric cars from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in San Francisco in a free event co-sponsored by Bay Area transportation and air pollution control agencies.

The free test drives are available on a first-come, first served basis to licensed drivers at the Marina Green Triangle along Marina Green Drive at Marina Boulevard, across from a Safeway store.

Free tacos will be given to drivers.

Models include cars made by BMW, FIAT, Ford, General Motors and Nissan.

The event is sponsored by a consortium of electric vehicle makers, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.
