CONCORD -- Concord officers shot and killed a suicidal woman after she pointed a gun at them Thursday afternoon, police said.
The shooting occurred at 5:37 p.m. in the 2700 block of Pacheco Street after officers responded to a call from a woman who said someone was trying to kill her.
The caller then told police she was suicidal and when officers arrived at the home, they found a woman armed with a handgun. When she raised the gun toward them, the woman was shot by one of the officers, according to Lt. Darrell Graham.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooting is being investigated by Concord police and the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.
No one else was injured in the incident.
