OAKLAND -- Three names of three men slain since May 21 in different parts of Oakland were released Tuesday by police.
The three killings are not related and no arrests have been made in any of them, police said.
Killed Sunday night in a fatal shooting in the 9000 block of International Boulevard was Cesar Jones, 38, who lived in the area. A 30-year-old woman who was a friend of Jones' was also wounded in the 10:27 p.m. shooting but will recover. Police said they were part of a group fired on by an unidentified gunman. No motive has been released.
A 30-year-old man fatally shot about 1:29 a.m. Sunday outside his apartment in the 2800 block of Nicol Avenue near the Dimond district was identified as Jay E. Hansen. Police were told he was the father of three children and was a student at San Francisco State University.
Police said Hansen was shot outside his apartment after returning home from a downtown nightclub and getting into an argument with another man. No motive has been established yet and police would like to talk to anyone who was with or saw Hansen earlier.
A man police said was deliberately run down by a car and killed about 9:24 p.m. May 21 in the 2800 block of Webster Street was identified as Anthony Harris, 50, who lived in North Oakland. Police still don't have a motive for why he was targeted by the motorist.
