SAN JOSE -- A small grass fire burning along southbound Interstate 880 forced the closure of the 11th Street off-ramp as fire crews work to contain the flames.

The fire was reported around 5:25 p.m. near the offramp, according to the California Highway Patrol. San Jose firefighters are currently working to put out the smoke and flames, which has caused some traffic delays.

The off-ramp at 11th Street was expected to close only temporarily.

Commuters were asked to drive cautiously. Crews did not know what started the fire.

About an hour later, a trailer near train tracks at Old Oakland and Brokaw roads caught fire, putting off a huge plume of smoke in the area. Family members, who didn't want to talk, were burned out of the unit, which was completely destroyed.

No one was reported injured.
