SAN JOSE -- A San Jose man suspected of using a stolen computer to make an online purchase from a Willow Glen home was arrested and police say they recovered stolen propertythat included cell phones, jewelry and a handgun.
The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office is working to return some of the stolen property to the rightful owners and have released photos of some of the recovered items, including silverware, a photo album and monitors.
The investigation began on April 24 when sheriff's deputies responded to a commercial burglary in the 18000 block of Prospect Road in Saratoga, according to Sgt. Kurtis Stenderup.
Among the items stolen from the business was an Apple iMac that investigators later determined was used to make an online purchase from a residence on Lincoln Avenue.
On June 17 deputies went to the home and conducted a probation search. When deputies arrived, a man was caught trying to leave through the front window, Stenderup said.
Ryan Paradiso, 36, of San Jose was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property and violation of probation.
During a search of the home, deputies said they located the Apple iMac computer as well as a stolen handgun, several computer monitors, cell phones, jewelry, bikes, silver dinnerware and a photo album.
While deputies searched the garage, several neighbors noticed various items that had been stolen from their homes in Paradiso's garage, Stenderup said. Those items were returned to their owners.
Investigators are asking for the public's help in identifying some of the property that was recovered from the residence.
Anyone who recognizes the items is asked to contact detective Sgt. Bryan Glatz at email@example.com or 408-868-6600.
