Nick Cannon may play Richard Pryor in an upcoming biopic.

Right ... that Nick Cannon.

Right again ... that Richard Pryor.

Of course, the source on this is Cannon himself.

Mr. Mariah Carey has been dropping hints about the film on Instagram. On Friday, he shared a picture of Pryor with the caption, "I'm feeling his spirit. I hope y'all ready for the next level in my career. #GameChanger #Pryor."

Please ... no. Stop it.

According to WENN, Cannon showed up at Sunday's BET Awards on Sunday with a "retro" hairstyle. Fans began commenting online and suddenly Cannon reposted the photo of Pryor with the caption, "Now y'all get it!"

No ... I don't want to get it. Don't make me get it ... .

Cannon was at it again Monday night, sharing a picture of Pryor smoking, and suggesting he, too, is smoking to get into character.

"Picking up smoking cigarettes for the next few months," he wrote, "so forgive me if I smell like an ashtray. #KidsDontTryThis #CancerSticksSuck #AnythingForTheCraft #HopeIDontGetAddicted #LeftHandChainSmoking #ActorLife #NotAGame #Ncredible (sic)."

Anything for the craft? If Nick Cannon wants to do something for the craft, he should stop this nonsense before someone gets hurt.

Director Lee Daniels has been attached to a potential biopic of Pryor, with Eddie Murphy and Michael B. Jordan rumored to be up for the role.
