A homeless man threatened to kill Michael Strahan on Tuesday at ABC studios in New York, according to TMZ.

Police told the website Andre Johnson, 25, appeared around 8 a.m. at the Times Square studio where "Good Morning America" is shot, when the cast often hits the sidewalk to interact with onlookers.

According to police, Johnson got into an argument with security, pulled a knife and said he was there to kill the former New York Giants defensive end -- who appears on the show, as well as co-hosting "Live! With Kelly and Michael" with Kelly Ripa.

This guy must be a Regis Philbin fan.

Sorry -- that was inappropriate. There's nothing funny about Regis Philbin.

A police officer who was working security at the site subdued Johnson and took the knife.

The New York Post -- which was first to report the story (we have to say that) -- reports Johnson was charged with felony attempted assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. He's reportedly being held without bail.
