One of the benefits of working at Apple, it appears, is easy access to a strong cup of joe from its in-house brew team.
But what sort of perks do those human percolators get?
Apply for the job of ''iCup Technician" and if you get the gig, you'll find out.
"The Apple iCup Services is specially designed to provide a fresh brew coffee to all Apple employees within their department," says the ad, posted over the weekend on the company's online job board. "The iCup staff is also available on call during business of operation."
Apple declined to comment. But the posting said the position requires that you know how to "refill coffee machines" and "service broken machines." Apparently, there are certain "routes" that involve making "service calls (on-site repair, coffee deliveries, etc.)." And when you're not doing a "Milk delivery," you'll be expected to "Fully rebuild and clean machines."
Qualifications, you ask?
Apple insists that applicants have "Prior work experience with coffee machines," perhaps to avoid any unpleasant accidents while visiting the iPhone 6 team. Applicants need "Excellent customer service skills'' to deal with all those prima donnas down in the top-secret iWatch bunker. And applicants must have the "Ability to multitask,'' just in case the Apple TV folks want more cream just as the Mac guys are calling for more sugar.
Oh yeah: "Some computer skills'' will be needed since this is, after all, Apple.
Last but not least, and hardly surprising for the notoriously secretive folks at One Infinite Loop: applicants MUST "Maintain the highest standards of conduct and confidentiality.''
In other words, loose and highly caffeinated lips sink ships.
