A man arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended license during a traffic stop admitted he was selling marijuana after officers found the substance packaged in his vehicle, police said.

The man, who was arrested about 8:45 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway, was also allegedly in possession of a digital scale, which police said was further evidence of dealing.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 2

  • PETTY THEFT -- A 42-year-old man who stole items from Safeway at Alameda South Shore Center was arrested near the business about 5:05 p.m., police said. Along with the stolen merchandise, the man was in possession of suspected burglary tools and wanted on three outstanding misdemeanor warrants, police said. He also faces charges of violating his probation and a stay-away order. Police also said an attempted strong-arm robbery was reported about 6:30 p.m. in the 500 block of the shopping center.

  • OUTSIDE AGENCY ASSISTANCE -- The Oakland police requested an Alameda police dog to help search for barricaded suspects on 81st Street.

    THURSDAY, JULY 3

  • ATTEMPTED BURGLARY -- Someone tried to break into a storage shed on West Hornet Avenue. Police learned about the incident about 9:40 a.m. A burglar also broke into and stole items from a storage shed in the 2600 block of Orion Street. It was reported at 12:50 p.m.

  • IDENTITY THEFT -- A resident of the 2000 block of Pacific Avenue told police at 11:45 p.m. that someone stole his or her credit card information and made numerous unauthorized purchases.

  • BURGLARY -- A burglar who forced open the front door of a residence in the 500 block of Pensacola Road rummaged through items inside before fleeing, police said. The burglary was reported about 1:35 p.m.

    FRIDAY, JULY 4

  • DRUNKEN DRIVING -- Police arrested a motorist, 24, on suspicion of drunken driving about 12:40 a.m. in the 400 block of Westline Drive. His passenger, 20, was also arrested after a background check revealed that she was wanted on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

  • RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE -- Police recovered a vehicle stolen in Oakland about 1:55 p.m. in the 2600 block of La Jolla Drive. Another stolen vehicle was recovered about 4:05 p.m. in the 1600 block of Eighth Street. The location of the theft, however, was not immediately available.

  • PROBATION VIOLATION -- A man whom officers contacted in the 900 block of Buena Vista Avenue and learned was on probation for auto theft was arrested about 5:45 p.m. after he was allegedly found in possession of a shaved key.

    SATURDAY, JULY 5

  • RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE -- Police recovered a vehicle stolen in San Francisco just before 8 a.m. in the 1700 block of Nason Street.

  • DRUNKEN DRIVING -- Police arrested a man, 55, on suspicion of drunken driving after a traffic stop about 11 p.m. in the 600 block of Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway.

    SUNDAY, JULY 6

  • CONCEALED WEAPON -- A traffic stop about midnight in the 1700 block of Park Street led to the arrest of two men, including a 23-year-old who was allegedly in possession of a concealed stolen firearm. His companion, 24, was wanted on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. Officers found the weapon during a probable cause search of the vehicle, police said.

  • BURGLARY -- Someone broke into six vehicles and a garage, police said. The break-ins and burglary were reported about 6:20 a.m. on Bertero Court. Another burglary was reported about 10:45 a.m. in the 2200 block of Otis Drive, where the victim told police that someone stole items from a storage cabinet.

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- A vehicle was reported stolen about 9:50 a.m. in the 100 block of Corpus Christi Road, where the thief apparently tried to steal another vehicle a short time earlier, police said. Another vehicle was reported stolen about 9:10 p.m. at Park Street and Webb Avenue.

  • DRUNKEN DRIVING -- Police arrested a woman, 28, on suspicion of drunken driving just after 7 p.m. in the 1700 block of Grand Street, where she was involved in a traffic collision.
