The next Captain America will be a black man.

Jeez -- what's next? A black president?

A day after Marvel announced the new Thor will be a woman, the comic book company's Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada went on "The Colbert Report" and revealed that the new Captain America would be a black man, according to Time.com.

Is Jim Brown too old? Because Jim Brown has been a superhero for more than 50 years.

Quesada said Wednesday night the character Sam Wilson, who fans may already know as The Falcon, will take over the role of Captain America in a new series launching in October.

Wilson was the first black superhero when he debuted in 1969 as The Falcon in Captain America #117. He'll now take over the role of Captain America in Captain America #25.

Wilson will be the seventh character taking on the Captain America role.
