OAKLAND -- The BART Coliseum station was closed for more than an hour Friday morning due to a bomb threat investigation, resulting in major delays on the Fremont, Daly City and Dublin-Pleasanton lines, authorities said.

The station closed at about 7:40 a.m. after an unknown person reported the threat, BART spokesman Jim Allison said.

At 8:48 a.m. trains began moving through the Coliseum station. Passengers were permitted to board trains there, but not allowed to exit trains after officers cleared an area at the station, Allison said.

Then at 9:02 a.m., after officers swept the entire station, all trains were back in service.
