A 32-year-old Pacifica woman speeding in a sport utility vehicle with her 6-year-old daughter was booked on suspicion of felony child endangerment, drunken driving and other violations Sunday evening after trying to flee from a California Highway Patrol officer.

California Highway Patrol spokesman Andrew Barclay said that at about 5:27 p.m., an officer parked on the Marinwood Avenue offramp along southbound Highway 101 clocked Ana Soledad Lopez traveling at 85 mph and gave chase in a pursuit that hit 90 mph.

"The officer observed the driver...making numerous erratic lane changes, cutting vehicles off and causing other vehicles to take evasive maneuvers" before catching up to Lopez and pulling her over near the North San Pedro Road exit, Barclay reported. The officer got out of his patrol car and as he was approaching the right rear door, "Lopez put the vehicle in drive and sped out into traffic, almost hitting another vehicle," he said.

Officers caught up to Lopez just north of the Lincoln Avenue offramp in San Rafael where she pulled over and was taken into custody. Her daughter was taken to the CHP office in Corte Madera, where a family member picked her up.

Lopez was booked into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of child endangerment, failing to comply with a peace officer and misdemeanor drunken driving -- with enhancements for a blood alcohol level of more than .15 and for having a minor in the car while intoxicated. Lopez was no longer in custody Monday morning, according to the jail.
