SAN PABLO -- A small fire in a storage area of the Mi Tierra No. 2 Market on Saturday night was quickly contained by fire crews and no one was injured, a fire official said.
Crews from Contra Costa County Fire in San Pablo and Richmond Fire responded to a report of a commercial fire alarm at 10:15 p.m. and found the alarm sounding at the market at 13731 San Pablo Ave.
Additional engines and trucks were called and fire crews got into the building and found most of the small fire had been put out by the building's sprinkler system. Pinole Fire Department and San Pablo police also assisted on the call.
Crews put out the remaining fire, cleaned up water and cleared out the smoke to prevent damage to nearby businesses. No one was inside the closed market at the time and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. A damage estimate was not released Sunday afternoon.
