"Gravity" gave Sandra Bullock quite a boost last year, landing her atop Forbes' annual list for top paid actresses.

Bullock made an estimated $51 million between June 2013 and June 2014 to nail down the No. 1 spot. She was followed by Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence ($34 million), Jennifer Aniston ($31 million) and Gwyneth Paltrow ($19 million).

Last year's leader, Angelina Jolie fell to a tie for fifth with Cameron Diaz, each of whom earned an estimated $18 million.

Is it lost on anyone else that three actresses in the top five have romantic history with Brad Pitt?

Forbes notes that it calculates its earning estimates by talking to agents, producers, lawyers and other industry experts to determine how much a celebrity made from entertainment-related work.

Despite Bullock's strong showing, she still fell well behind the top-earning actor, Robert Downey Jr., who hauled in an estimated $75 million. In fact, the top 10 actors combined for $419 million, compared to $226 million earned by the top 10 actresses.
