Bishop O'Dowd High's Ivan Rabb has made his second USA men's basketball squad in as many years.

Rabb was named to the U17 national team on Tuesday and will compete at the FIBA World Championships in Dubai from Aug. 8-16. He is one of nine players on the 12-man roster that also made last year's U16 squad. That team captured the gold medal at the FIBA Americas U16 Championship.

Rabb, considered the No. 1 player in the class of 2015 by ESPN, has yet to make his college decision. Last season he averaged 25 points, 16 rebounds and five blocks for a Dragons team that claimed the Northern California Open Division title.

Susan Mehmedbasich Wright, a Kennedy-Richmond graduate and former El Cerrito resident, was inducted into the USTA Northern California Tennis Hall of Fame on Aug. 1 during the Bank of the West Classic at Stanford. Wright, who lives in Grand Junction, Colo., has been one of the world's top 50-and-over players since joining the USTA and ITF senior circuits in 2002.
