REDWOOD CITY - A Daly City man was sentenced today to 15 years in prison in connection with a 2013 drunk driving hit-and-run crash that killed three people in Colma

Paul Michael Anthony Diaz, 26, pleaded no contest in June to three counts of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated with gross negligence and felony hit-and-run resulting in injury or death, San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.

Prosecutors said Diaz, who has a previous DUI conviction, had been drinking and was driving an estimated speed of 90 mph when he crashed his Ford Mustang on May 27, 2013 on Hillside Boulevard in Colma, killing his three passengers.

Diaz crashed into the back of another vehicle, lost control of the Mustang and slammed into a retaining wall, shearing the car in half.

Prosecutors said Diaz pulled himself out of the car, saw his girlfriend, identified as 23-Year-old Rosa Maria Falla, lying dead on the ground and then took off running.

The other two passengers killed in the crash were Jonathan Jade Mouton, 21, and Ruvin Abel Vasquez, 22.

The driver of the other vehicle was not seriously injured.
