SAN LEANDRO -- A Berkeley man has been arrested in connection to a stabbing that took place at the Bay Fair BART station this past weekend, a BART spokesman said Friday.

Cole Chaquan Wright, 20, is accused of stabbing another man in the torso after getting into an argument in the bus zone at the station Aug. 9, BART spokesman Jim Allison said.

The victim, who did not know Wright, was taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, then was later released.

The victim provided a description of the suspect to BART police, who were able to also able to identify Wright based on interviews with people who frequent the area around the station, Allison said.

A BART officer spotted Wright on Thursday while patrolling Bay Fair station and arrested him without incident in connection to the stabbing, Allison said.
