Marvel started shooting "Ant-Man" on Monday in San Francisco.

Maybe they'll cross paths with Godzilla or some of those crazy talking apes and accidentally make the greatest movie of all time.

The film will star Paul Rudd as the title character, one of the original comic book members of "The Avengers," which likely means the character will be folded into that franchise as well. The film will also star Michael Douglas as his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, and Evangeline Lilly as Pym's daughter, Hope Van Dyne.

The film also features Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale and Michael Pena. Petron Reed is directing.

For those not familiar, Rudd plays con man Scott Lang, who must embrace his inner hero to help his mentor Dr. Hank Pym protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats.

Right. Godzilla ... and talking apes.

Pym and Lang -- whose powers include shrinking in size while gaining strength -- have to pull off a heist and save the world. It's always about saving the world ... when are one of these people going to do something really impressive?

The film is also shooting in Atlanta.
