The 49ers have signed injured defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey to a two-year contract extension, the team announced Tuesday in a news release.
Dorsey, whose 2014 season is somewhat in doubt after a torn left biceps suffered at practice on Aug. 1, is now signed with the 49ers through the 2016 season. Dorsey, selected fifth overall by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2008, joined the 49ers as a free agent and started 13 games.
"Glenn is a true pro who has quickly become a valued contributor to our organization both on and off the field," said 49ers general manager Trent Baalke said in a statement "He is a quick study and a very good football player that has earned this extension, and we look forward to his future contributions."
