OAKLAND -- Police confiscated stacks of cash, about 100 grams of cocaine and a small quantity of marijuana Tuesday night after stopping a motorist for speeding, said a spokesman for the California Highway Patrol.

Around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, a CHP officer stopped a Chevy Impala for speeding on Frontage Road near West Grand Avenue in Oakland. The officer smelled marijuana and searched the car.

During the search, officer turned up about $7,000 in cash, 100 grams of cocaine valued at approximately $6,000 on the street and roughly 27 grams of marijuana, worth between $250 and $500 on the street.

The driver, Ivan Torres, was arrested and booked into North County Jail in Oakland Tuesday night. On Wednesday, CHP Oakland officers served a search warrant at Torres' San Pablo home and found an additional $4,000 in cash and evidence of drug sales. Torres faces multiple charges relating to drug possession and sales, authorities said.
