SAN RAMON -- Police on Thursday continued to search for a missing 77-year-old woman who speaks little English and suffers from dementia, authorities said.

Luba Lusherovich has been missing since noon Wednesday, when she set off on foot without her eyeglasses from her family's home near Bollinger Canyon Road and Marsh Drive in San Ramon.

Crews searched for her until 2:30 a.m., and resumed the search at 7 a.m. Thursday.

It appears Lusherovich might have walked along the rural stretch of Crow Canyon Road, which connects San Ramon and Castro Valley. Sightings of Lusherovich were reported near Norris Canyon Road outside the San Ramon city limits and on Thursday morning she was spotted in Castro Valley near Crow Canyon Road and Highway 580, miles from her family's San Ramon home.

Lusherovich is described as white, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds and speaking with a heavy Russian accent. She was wearing a dark shirt and dark shoes. A recent photo of Lusherovich released Thursday shows her with pink-colored hair.

Anyone with information on Lusherovich's whereabouts is asked to contact the San Ramon Police Department at 925-973-2779.
