Shelby Zimmerman of Antioch, member of the International Order of Rainbow Girls, Diablo Valley Assembly 84, has been selected to represent California Rainbow's highest office, Grand Worthy Advisor. Zimmerman, the daughter of Scott and Paula Zimmerman, has been a member of the DV Assembly since 2004 and has held numerous offices including Worthy Advisor for three terms. She has received multiple assembly service honors and is a recipient of the Grand Cross of Color service award, the highest honor a Rainbow Girl can receive. Zimmerman is also the second in three years to be chosen for this position from the community.

One of the direct responsibilities of the GWA is to select a Grand Service Project for the term; a nonprofit organization in need of funding to help build or sustain their current mission. Zimmerman has selected the Barry R. Kirshner Wildlife Foundation near Chico, housing a wide variety of animals in need of care.

Zimmerman's goals are clear: educate the public about the noble work Rainbow Girls provide and to raise awareness and funds for the Barry R. Kirshner Wildlife Foundation.
