Gerard Capriulo, chairman of the Saint Mary's College biology department, died suddenly at his Clayton home Sunday night.The 56-year-old professor died the night after having taken students on a field trip to the ocean.  

Longtime Peninsula journalist George E. Golding died Nov. 14 at his home in San Mateo from complications due to a stroke. He was 84.A resident of San Mateo County since 1956, Golding was a native of Oakdale, Stanislaus County, and lived most of his life in California.
