OAKLAND -- Protesters took to the streets of Oakland late Friday, damaging numerous banks in the downtown area.

Roughly 40 to 50 Occupy Oakland protesters marched through downtown area, vandalizing ATMs belonging to at least five banks.

The protesters also shattered an 8-by-8-foot window pane at the landmark Tribune Tower, the former home of the Oakland Tribune.

It was unknown what time the protests started, nor was it known if any arrests were made.
