LONDON -- Ethiopia's Tirunesh Dibaba won the women's 10,000-meter run Friday at the Olympics, duplicating her gold-medal performance from four years ago in Beijing.
Dibaba, 25, completed the 6.2-mile race in a season-best time of 30 minutes, 20.75 seconds. At Beijing, she won both the 5,000 and 10,000.
Kenyan Sally Jepkosgei Kipyego, who attended college at Texas Tech, won the silver medal in a lifetime-best mark of 30:26.37 while Kenyan Vivian Jepkemoi Cheruiyot, fifth at Beijing, took the bronze in 30:30.44.
Americans Amy Hastings and Janet Bawcom placed 11th and 12th, respectively, in personal-best times of 31:10.69 and 31:12.68.
