Theater with an emphasis on 'family'

Gavin Gunn, 3, of Lafayette, tries to scare Evan Boomer, the "Mad Hatter," but instead makes him laugh during the Chevron Family Theatre Festival last Saturday at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek. This was the sixth annual event, designed to introduce young people to the performing arts. An estimated 6,000 visitors enjoyed scheduled performances, roving entertainers and interactive activities.
