OAKLAND -- Highway 13 will be closed beginning at 10 p.m. Wednesday through 5 a.m. Thursday for the installation of rock slope protection, Caltrans said.

A rock drapery, which prevents falling rocks from landing on the roadway, will be installed on the southbound section of Highway 13 from the Broadway Terrace onramp to the Moraga Avenue off-ramp.

Detour signs will be in place to notify drivers about the emergency repairs and alternate routes, and Caltrans released one detour plan:.

Exit southbound Highway 13 at Broadway Terrace,

Turn left on Broadway Terrace, stay straight to merge onto Duncan Way,

Left at Florence Terrace,

Make the first right at Mountain Blvd.,

Right onto Thornhill Drive,

Make a left onto Moraga Avenue,

Moraga Avenue turns into Mountain Blvd.,

Make a right on Park Blvd.,

at first stop light (Monterey Blvd.)make a left and freeway entrance will be on the left.
