  • Acalanes High School Speaker Series- "Gender Inequality:

    A Report from the Front Line with Budd MacKenzie" -- 7 p.m. Nov. 29. Acalanes High School, Budd MacKenzie, the founder of the Lafayette-based organization "Trust in Education," will speak about his recent travels to Afghanistan and the gender inequality and discrimination he witnessed there, and inform our community about what we can do to improve the situation overseas.   • Celebrate the Joy of Remembrance at the 26th Annual Hospice of the East Bay Tree of Lights -- 4;30 p.m. Dec. 1.   • Jazz Jam at Petar's -- 6 p.m. Nov. 26. The scene is Petar's in Lafayette, where the kids have been jamming now for the last half year on the third or fourth Monday of the month. Students and families, from the local public and private schools bring their instruments and show their moxy in an informal, highly energized evening of jazz. Local bassist/guitarist Terry Miller is at the helm, ushering the musicians on stage and guiding them through the music, with help from other adult instrumentalists.
