Contra Costa wins Holiday Classic

A group of Contra Costa all-stars tackle Michael Adams in Contra Costa's 23-20 win over Alameda County in the Holiday Classic All-Star football game on Dec. 22 at Pittsburg High. Pittsburg High's Craijon Menefee scored on a 1-yard run with just under three minutes left for the winning touchdown. Freedom star Darrell Daniels had six catches for 78 yards while Menefee had a game-high 83 rushing yards to help the Contra Costa team take a 16-0 lead. Alameda then scored 20 straight points. The rosters were comprised of some of the top seniors football players from the East Bay. Acalanes defensive lineman Gabe Newman and linebacker Kevin Camporeale were the only Lamorinda players represented in the game.
