Kahlua is 4 to 5 years old, loves to curl up and cuddle and have her tummy rubbed. She's pretty mellow, OK with a passive male dog, but a bit feisty with other female dogs. Kahlua is used to getting a lot of attention -- her former owners, an elderly couple, had to give her up. She likes being brushed, taken for a walk or going on car rides, and chewing on bones. Pug Rescue of Sacramento is at Pet Food Express, at Oak Grove Road and Treat Boulevard in Concord, the third Sunday of most months.
Checkers is estimated at 3 to 4 years old. She is one of four malamutes taken in from a seizure in Montana, and was living in a shelter for more than a year while the case was settled. Checkers has been with Malamutes Unwanted Seeking Homes for about a month, and though still very shy, is coming out of her shell. She's not interested in treats or toys, but is very friendly once she gets to know you. She is crate trained, walks well on leash, tolerates brushing, and may be OK with other females.
