Community service honored

The 2013 class of the Lamorinda Chapter of the National Charity League, which includes girls from Orinda, Moraga, and Lafayette (and their moms), was recently honored for its members' dedicated work -- and thousands of hours of community service -- over the past six years to more than 30 local organizations such as the Contra Costa Food Bank, Loaves and Fishes, Monument Crisis Center, Special Olympics, Blue Star Moms, the American Cancer Society, Cal Shakes, J.F. Kapnek Pediatric Aids Foundation, Las Trampas, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the Shorebird Nature Center.
