ORINDA -- Patricia Rudebusch, who spent many years on the Orinda school district board and has worked on campaigns for many local school-related bond measures and parcel taxes, has been named the 2013 Orinda Citizen of the Year, and will be honored at a March 15 dinner at the Orinda Community Center.
Rudebusch served for 12 years on the school board, leaving that post in November.
She also has been with the Educational Foundation of Orinda and Friends of the Orinda Library; is a board member with the UC Botanical Garden in Berkeley, and a docent at the Marine Mammal Center on the Marin County coastline.
She succeeds Richard Westin as Orinda's reigning "citizen."
No-host cocktails at the March 15 dinner begins at 6 p.m., with dinner starting at 7. Reservations for the dinner can be made by calling 925-254-7766 or by stopping in in person at the Park Place Office, at 18 Orinda Way. Cost of the dinner is $45 (including wine), with a choice of prime rib, chicken picatta or vegetarian.
The award is sponsored by The Rotary Club of Orinda and the Lamorinda Sun.
