De'End Parker scored 21 points and hit two 3-pointers during a decisive second-half run, and host USF snapped St. John's four-game winning streak with an 81-65 victory Tuesday night to spoil coach Steve Lavin's return to the Bay Area.

Lavin, who was born in San Francisco and grew up in Marin County, played two seasons at San Francisco State before transferring for his final two seasons and then beginning his coaching career.

Cody Doolin added 18 points and a career-high 14 assists to go with two steals and two blocked shots for the Dons (5-1), who won their fifth in a row since a season-opening loss to Stanford.

JaKarr Sampson scored 22 points and D'Angelo Harrison had 14 but went 1 for 6 from 3-point range for the cold-shooting Red Storm (6-3).

Michigan 73, W. Michigan 41: Trey Burke had 20 points and seven assists, and No. 3 Michigan eased past Western Michigan (6-2) in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines (8-0) had lost their previous two games against the Broncos, but that was more than a decade ago.

Arizona 63, Southern Miss 55: Nick Johnson scored 23 points, Kevin Parrom had 13 of his 14 in the second half and No. 8 Arizona overcame a season-high 27 turnovers to hold off visiting Southern Miss (6-2).

Arizona (6-0) struggled against Southern Miss' zone defense, throwing passes into traffic, to open spaces, even one that sailed over the coaches on the bench into the crowd.
