Braves 9, Phillies 2: Justin Upton, Jason Heyward and rookie Evan Gattis homered, helping Paul Maholm and Atlanta beat Philadelphia. Roy Halladay struck out nine but was knocked out in the fourth inning.

Indians 3, Blue Jays 2: Mark Reynolds hit a tiebreaking home run in the 11th inning to send Cleveland past Toronto. The Blue Jays had tied it in the ninth on Jose Bautista's homer.

Rays 8, Orioles 7: Matt Joyce led off the bottom of the ninth inning with a towering home run against Tommy Hunter, giving Tampa Bay a victory over Baltimore. Shelley Duncan hit a three-run homer for the Rays.

Reds 5, Angels 4: Brandon Phillips hit a three-run homer in his new role as Cincinnati's cleanup hitter, and Joey Votto drove in the winning run with a ninth-inning single as the Reds beat Los Angeles.

Mets 8, Padres 4: Matt Harvey allowed one hit and struck out 10 in seven scoreless innings, and Lucas Duda, John Buck and Ike Davis homered to power New York's win over San Diego.

Rangers 4, Astros 0: A day after Yu Darvish came within one out of a perfect game, Alexi Ogando and four Texas relievers shut out Houston, combining for a five-hitter.

White Sox 5, Royals 2: Adam Dunn hit one of Chicago's four homers, leading the White Sox by Kansas City.

Twins 3, Tigers 2: Eduardo Escobar's two-run double with one out in the ninth inning lifted Minnesota past Detroit.

Rockies 7, Brewers 3: Wilin Rosario, Michael Cuddyer and Dexter Fowler homered to power Colorado past Milwaukee.
