Registration to vote requests must be postmarked no later than Monday to vote for the March 5 Piedmont school's special election.
Alameda County residents must be citizens, 18 years or older, and not in prison or parole for a felony conviction to be eligible to vote.
Voter registration affidavits are available at the Registrar of Voters office, 1225 Fallon St., Room G-1, Oakland, and also at libraries, fire stations and post offices.
You can also apply to register to vote by filling in an online application through the state Secretary of State's website at www.registertovote.ca.gov.

Music concert Feb. 24 at Center for the Arts
Revel in an afternoon of music with the Oakland East Bay Symphony Chorus at Piedmont Center for the Arts.
It begins at 4 p.m. Feb. 24 at the center, 801 Magnolia Ave., Piedmont. Kurt Weill and Company features mezzo sopranos Alexis Lane Jensen and Lynne Morrow with Allison Lovejoy on piano to benefit the chorus.

Applicants sought for city boards, panels
Piedmont is seeking applicants for several vacancies on city boards and commissions.
Applications must be submitted by March 1. They are available on the city's website at www.ci.piedmont.ca.us, at City Hall, 120 Vista Ave., or by calling 510-420-3040.
All applicants must be available for an interview with the City Council on March 7, at which time appointments will be made.
The CIP Review Committee has one vacancy; the Civil Service Commission has two vacancies. The Park Commission has two vacancies, and the Planning Commission has three vacancies. The Public Safety Committee has one vacancy; the Recreation Commission has three vacancies. Most committees meet monthly or when required. CIP review makes recommendations regarding the capital budget. Civil service deals with personnel issues. Park Commission makes recommendations about public parks and street trees.
Planning Commission makes decisions regarding modifications or construction of homes. Public Safety investigates way to increase public participation in crime prevention. Recreation Commission advices the city on recreation programs.
