Monday postmark deadline to vote March 5

Registration to vote requests must be postmarked no later than Monday to vote for the March 5 Piedmont school's special election.

Alameda County residents must be citizens, 18 years or older, and not in prison or parole for a felony conviction to be eligible to vote.

Voter registration affidavits are available at the Registrar of Voters office, 1225 Fallon St., Room G-1, Oakland, and also at libraries, fire stations and post offices.

You can also apply to register to vote by filling in an online application through the state Secretary of State's website at www.registertovote.ca.gov.

Music concert Feb. 24 at Center for the Arts

Revel in an afternoon of music with the Oakland East Bay Symphony Chorus at Piedmont Center for the Arts.

It begins at 4 p.m. Feb. 24 at the center, 801 Magnolia Ave., Piedmont. Kurt Weill and Company features mezzo sopranos Alexis Lane Jensen and Lynne Morrow with Allison Lovejoy on piano to benefit the chorus.
