Products and services: Frosted! specializes in made-from-scratch cakes, cupcakes, desserts and custom cakes for special events. It also serves gourmet coffee and Chai tea. Other favored products are its cupcake towers, displays and cake stands. For weddings and special events, sample tasting, frostings and fillings are available by appointment.
"We love the challenge of specialty orders. We can customize your order to fit your event such as weddings, special occasions, birthday, themed parties, holidays and corporate events," Barbara Trujillo said.
How did you get in the business? "I have always enjoyed baking. It's been a passion and a hobby for me. I would bake as a stress release, then found myself with a lot of extra goodies," Trujillo said.
At first, Trujillo would bring them into her office to share with co-workers. After a while, her co-workers and friends started to order her baked goods and cakes.
"Then, soon after that, their friends and families were requesting cakes," she said.

Best part about the business? "Being able to do what we enjoy, as well as being part of someone's special celebrations by creating a beautiful cake for their special day," Trujillo said.
Worst part about the business? "Not enough time in the day to create what I would like to," Trujillo said.
Key to success: Trujillo explained that her key to success was to start with a business plan and stick to it.
"Having a strong product that people want and need and always continuous improvement," she said. "Include exceptional customer service."
Trujillo said that the support from the community, family and friends has helped build their business tremendously. "With a good word-of-mouth and positive postings on message boards such as Facebook, we have been able to build a wonderful customer base and look forward to giving back to the community."
Biggest misperception about the business: Trujillo said she couldn't think of a misperception.
Future plans: As it continues to grow, Trujillo said her goal is to expand its product line and business hours to meet customers' needs. A good example of expansion would be coffee drinks and pastries, which customers seem to enjoy.
