Jason Somsuk Pitak, son of Charlie and Amy Pitak of Antioch, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, which was presented at a Court of Honor ceremonies on Oct. 27, at the El Campanil Theatre in Antioch.
He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 159, under the leadership of Scoutmaster John Warnock.
For his Eagle Scout community service project, Pitak cleaned out, organized and built storage bins for the props and costumes belonging to the Vagabond Players, a troupe of senior actors bringing live theater to local senior centers and retirement homes.
During his Scouting career, Pitak earned 36 merit badges, completed a 50-mile canoe trek at the Northern Tier in the Great North Woods of northern Minnesota and Canada. Pitak also attended Boy Scout National Leadership Training.
Pitak, 16, is a junior at Deer Valley High School in Antioch.
