Hair today, gone tomorrow

To encourage the fight against autism, a willing Jeremy (Lumpy) Sturgill, left, owner of Lumpy's diners in Antioch, Pittsburg and Brentwood, and 20 other bearded men, let Rachael Padilla, right, shave their beards at a recent "Beards for Bucks" fundraiser. The event was held at the Lumpy's Diner in Antioch and was part of festivities that included a burger-eating contest, kids fest and car show raising more than $5,000 and drawing a crowd of over 3,000 visitors.
