PITTSBURG -- Officers were at the scene of a major injury crash Wednesday morning in unincorporated Pittsburg, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Emergency crews were dispatched at 7:12 a.m. to the intersection of Kirker Pass and Nortonville roads after a Honda car had apparently slammed into a center divider, said Officer Ron Simmons.

When officers arrived they discovered the wrecked silver Honda, Simmons said. The driver of the car was suffering from major trauma, Simmons said.

The driver was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.

No additional information about the driver was immediately known.
