A Record birthday

Vivian Johnson of Pleasant Hill received a monumental 80th birthday present from her sons Donald, Dean and Doyle, and their families -- a trip to Yosemite National Park in late April. Having lived in the Bay Area most of her life, Vivian had never visited the national park created in 1890, which she described as "spectacular, wonderful, gorgeous and beautiful." She was amazed at the many waterfalls and the huge rock formations. Accompanying her were from left, Dean, Kathy, Vivian (holding paper), Amanda, Donald and Chris. They took a moment from gazing at the vista from the back of the Ahwahnee Hotel to catch up on the community news in the Pleasant Hill/Martinez Record.

It doesn't matter if your time away is spent across San Francisco Bay or across the country -- remember to pack the Record to keep up with news of the community, and then show your neighbors where you have been. Email in .jpg format to record@bayareanewsgroup.com or send to Record on the Road, c/o the Pleasant Hill/Martinez Record, 2640 Shadelands Drive, Walnut Creek, CA 94598.
