PLEASANT HILL -- An attic fire in an unoccupied home was knocked down Monday afternoon by Contra Costa County firefighters, officials said.

Crews responded at 3:57 p.m. to the one-alarm blaze on Boies Court, near the south end of Paso Nogal Park, said Robert Marshall, spokesman for the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District. The fire was knocked down about 4:25 p.m.

The flames did not extend beyond the attic area, Marshall said. No injuries were reported in the blaze, and nobody was in the house at the time.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, Marshall said.
