14U Division Championship

San Lorenzo Heat 8, Pleasant Hill Panthers 5: For the Panthers, Emily Vickers pitched four and struck out three batters. The Panthers trailed 7-0, but rallied for a two-run double from Kelsey Rumbaugh that scored Claire Toth and Abby Morris. Victoria Plato, Olivia Cannizzo and Vanessa Osti also contributed run-scoring scoring doubles but the Panthers fell just short, and finished the tournament with a 4-2 record and a second place trophy.

Semifinal

Pleasant Hill Panthers 9, Livermore Smoke 2: For the Panthers, Claire Toth started the game with a lead-off homer and she also earned the win with five strong innings in the circle. In the fourth inning, Alaina Tonna sparked a six-run inning that broke the game open. Fionna Walsh added some insurance runs with a grand slam, while Hailey Valladao and Victoria Plato closed out the scoring with back-to-back doubles.

First round

Pleasant Hill Panthers 7, Redwood City Wicked 4: For the Panthers, Emily Vickers pitched a complete game and also jump started a late-game four-run rally. Trailing 4-3, the Panthers' Kelsey Rumbaugh hit an RBI double and Olivia Cannizzo added an RBI single. With two runners on base, and the tying run at the plate, Fiona Walsh caught a difficult line drive in left field to end the game.

Pool play

Pleasant Hill Panthers 9, Union City Fury 8: Early in the game, the Panthers jumped out to a huge 7-0 lead behind Vanessa Osti's triple. Kailey Meyer and Alaina Tonna both added run-scoring singles in the first. Hailey Valladao reached base twice, doubled and scored a run, while Kelsey Rumbaugh went 3 for 3 and drove in three. In the pitching circle, pitcher Emily Vickers struck out five in four innings of work.

Pleasant Hill Panthers 14, San Ramon Stompers 13: Abby Morris got the Panthers on the scoreboard with a two-run single. She also stole two bases in a five-run second inning. Fiona Walsh sparked a seven-run third inning with a two-run triple, and she later added an RBI single. Kelsey Rumbaugh led the offense with a solo home run and four RBI. Kailey Meyer went 2 for 3 with three RBI, while pitchers Emily Vickers and Victoria Plato helped secure the one-run victory.

Championship

Martinez 12, Pinole-Hercules 2: On June 21, the Martinez Majors Division Red Sox girls softball team defeated the Majors Division champions from Pinole-Hercules 12-2, and won the TOC Championship title of Contra Costa County. This was the first ever title for the Martinez Little League girls softball team girls softball team was Majors softball team to win the District 4-Contra Costa County Tournament of Championship title of Contra Costa County.

Led by Manager Phil Raines and coaches Rich King and Steve Moore, the Martinez team made local history, becoming the first ever Martinez Little League Majors Softball team to finish the season undefeated, including the (local) Contra Costa County-TOC Championship. Despite having two players on injury reserve, Aleija Lewis and Julia Parks, the team came together and played with the unity of a championship team. The Martinez Red Sox will next play in the All-Star game and possibly move onto the Little League World Series later this summer.

Top players for Martinez were: Pitcher, Derica Boyd (6 IP, O ER, 2 H, 2 BB, 12 K; 1B, HR, 2R, SB, RBI), Hanna Ruvalacaba (HR, sac fly, R, RBI), Lauren King (sac fly, 2 RBI), Brianna Waters (BB, R), Marissa Moore (1B, SB) Sadie James (1B), Karenna Roselli (1B) and Mimi Vo (SB, R). Defensively, catcher Lauren King, anchored the defense for Martinez.
