Blooming Record

Wanting to visit the Ashikaga Flower Park when the wisteria was in bloom, Charles Hunter of Pleasant Hill headed to Japan in the spring. At the gardens north of Tokyo -- filled with the well-known purple, pink and white varieties, as well as a brilliant yellow wisteria, along with many other flowering plants -- Hunter took a moment to catch up with the community news in the Pleasant Hill/Martinez Record. Three massive wisteria trellises in the park extend for more than half a mile, covered with the cascading blooms.

It doesn't matter if your time away is spent across San Francisco Bay or across the country -- remember to pack the Record to keep up with news of the community, and then show your neighbors where you have been.
