George Frazer Driscoll, the son of George and Lisa Driscoll, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, which will be presented in Court of Honor ceremonies Oct. 20, at the Hope Center Covenant Church, in Pleasant Hill.
He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 277, under the leadership of Scoutmaster Don Hinton.
For his Eagle Scout community service project, Driscoll coordinated the installation of a depository box at the Martinez Veterans Hall to collect American flags to be retired properly.
During his Scouting career, Driscoll earned 35 merit badges, camped out 91 nights, hiked 320 miles and performed 88 service hours. He was inducted into the Order of the Arrow -- the national honor society of the Boy Scouts of America -- in 2008.
Driscoll, 17, is a senior at De La Salle High School in Concord, and is a resident of Martinez.
