Record Seabee

Jerry Decius of Pleasant Hill took a moment at the annual All Seabee Reunion at Port Hueneme near Oxnard in September to have his picture snapped by his wife Kathy as he caught up on the community news in the Pleasant Hill/Martinez Record.

Decius explained that the Navy Seabee is a "different breed" of Navy man, whose first goal is to build and construct, and then protect what they have built.

Members wear the U.S. Navy dress uniform, but the U.S. Marine field uniform, and are well-versed in military training. Decius spent four years as an equipment operator from 1959-1963.

It doesn't matter if your time away is spent across the Bay or across the country -- pack the Record to keep up with news of the community, and then show your neighbors where you have been.
