PLEASANT HILL -- The Contra Costa County Board of Education expects to vote Wednesday on a proposal to place a measure on the June or November ballot asking voters to convert the superintendent from an elected to an appointed position.
The board will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. at the Contra Costa County Office of Education, 77 Santa Barbara Road in Pleasant Hill to hear a legal opinion about whether or not it has the authority to call such an election. If trustees determine they have that authority, they will vote on the ballot measure proposal.
