Offense galore

An explosive offense has helped the Alhambra High softball team begin the 2014 season on the right foot. The Bulldogs went 3-1 at the Queen of the Mountain tournament, outscoring their opponents 42-11. Their lone loss came to eventual champion Amador Valley 3-1 in the quarterfinals. Freshman Briana Perez, pictured sliding home safely past Livermore catcher Cassie Campiotti in the tournament opener March 13, has been a strong addition to a team with championship aspirations. She has eight runs and six RBIs in five games. The Sparacino sisters are also off to fast starts at the plate. Karlee, a freshman, has 12 hits in 15 at-bats to start her career while Hailey, a senior, has already driven in 13 runs.
