DeMers, Falcons are on hot streak

College Park High's strong baseball season continued with a sweep of Ygnacio Valley during the week of April 28. Joe DeMers, pictured, struck out 10 of 12 batters faced over four innings in a 20-1 win on May 1. In the two games, he hit .600 with five RBIs, four runs and a three-run homer. Also in the two-game series, Nick Oar was 6 for 7, Willie MacIver had five hits and drove in four, and Trevor Larnach had a two-run homer and six RBIs. The sweep improved the Falcons' record to 18-3 overall and 9-1 in Diablo Valley Athletic League heading into a first-place showdown with Clayton Valley Charter. Results of the two-game series, which began May 6, were not available at press time.
